Don Fick was born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised on a farm near Ithaca.  He attended Mead High School and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science, of Texas in 1978. In his earlier years, Don worked as a licensed funeral director for Jim Svoboda and also farmed near Ithaca. He gained many years of  experience working as a funeral director in Omaha and left John A. Gentleman Mortuaries in 2004 when he and his wife Lois became owners and operators of the the business. Don and Lois have three children.


 


Ryan Berg was born in O'Neill, Nebraska. He gained invaluable experience growing up in the funeral business. His parents Bob and Nancy Berg own Biglins Mortuary in O'Neill. Ryan graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1996. He attended Wayne State College and Kansas City Kansas Community College where he earned a degree in Mortuary Science.  Ryan received his license to practice funeral directing in 2000 and was employed at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Ryan has been with Marcy Mortuary since May, 2005. He is married to Traci (Ziegler) Berg who teaches at Mead Elementary School.  Ryan and Traci have twin boys.


 

 
Audrey (Fick) Williams was born in Omaha, Nebraska and grew up on a farm near Ithaca.  She is Don's sister and graduated from Mead High School.   Audrey has worked at Marcy Mortuary since 1986.   She is  trained in After Care Counseling and provides guidance to grieving family members.  Audrey is expert in Advance Funeral Planning and
holds a  Nebraska insurance license  to assist  families with prearrangements. She spends much of her time in Ashland overseeing the operation of Marcy Mortuary. Audrey is married to Rod Williams, a native to the Ashland community. They have four children and many grandchildren.
 

 

Lois (McElwain) Fick was born in Minot, North Dakota and grew up in Illinois.  She graduated from Illinois State where she earned a  degree in Music Education and Music Therapy.  She has lived in Nebraska since 1978 and has worked in mental health and education for 25 years. With her experience, Lois offers a unique perspective to families and friends experiencing loss. She received her Masters degree from the University of Nebraska in Omaha in 1996 and left her position as library director at Creighton Prep, Omaha  to be a part of the daily operation of the funeral business in 2004.
