Ron was born to Richard and Pat (Scheef) Pike. He grew up in the Ashland area and attended Ashland Grade School before graduating from Ashland High School in 1971. After high school Ron began his long career as a Truck Driver in the Ashland area. He loved racing horses and enjoyed his trips to the various horse tracks in Nebraska. He was a long time member of the Nebraska Thoroughbred Racing Association

Ron is survived by his sons and daughter in law, Brian and Megan Pike, Elkhorn, NE, Marty Pike, Grand Island, NE, 3 grandsons, Brendan, Colin and Tyler, Fiance, Sherilyn Godden, Omaha, her children, Richard and Tonya Godden, Omaha, Vicki and Denny Prier, Grand Island and 6 grandchildren, Ron's brothers and sisters in law, Gary and Gloria Pike, Richard and Debbie Pike, sister, Cindy Vest, all of Ashland, many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
