Jessica Lutton Bedient

Jessica Lutton Bedient entered into eternal glory on October 13, 2010 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE.  She was born on December 13, 1983.  Jessica grew up in Ashland, NE where she spent her time singing, dancing, and participating in athletics.  She graduated Valedictorian from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 2002.  During high school, she was a member of the volleyball, basketball, track, and dance team among other activities.

Jessica graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with her Bachelor’s Degree in 2006. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority, a counselor for Nebraska Human Resource Institute, and a member of the Innocent’s Society.  She volunteered for a variety of causes throughout college.

During the summer of 2009, Jessica met the love of her life, Tony, at Quarry Oaks Golf Course.  Tony and Jess quickly knew they were meant to be.  Tony proposed to Jess in April, 2010.  No matter the activity, they enjoyed sharing the time together.

Jessica worked for the University of Nebraska Foundation as Director of Development for the College of Public Affairs and Community Service and the College of Information Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  She was working on her Master’s Degree through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in business administration.

Jess loved to spend time with family and friends. Her favorite times were spent at her parents’ lake home.  She loved to lie in the sun, go for pontoon rides, and ride on the jet ski.  The Fourth of July was her favorite holiday.

She had the opportunity to travel and volunteer throughout the world with friends and family.  She spent a summer in London, a summer backpacking across Europe, two months volunteering at an orphanage in Tanzania, as well as time in China, The Philippines, and countless other locations.  She most recently took a trip to Egypt with her grandmother.

Jessica is survived by her loving husband of 5 weeks, Tony Bedient, her parents Dave & Sue Lutton of Ashland, NE, her sister Sara Lutton of Lincoln, NE, her sister, brother-in-law, & niece, Liz, Matt & Ainsley Flynn of Gretna, NE, her grandmother, Peg Lutton of Ashland, NE, in-laws, Maggie & Larry Kopsa of York, NE, Bob & Jan Bedient of York, NE, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, and friends.
