Glen H. Harger, 83, of  Ashland, NE formerly of Plattsmouth, NE died Saturday (6/26/2010) in Ashland, NE.  He was born on July 8, 1926 in Memphis, NE to Harvey and Josephine (Van Horn) Harger. Glen was united in marriage to  Betty Jean Rumsey on January 29, 1960 in Ashland, NE. She passed away in September of 1988. He attended rural schools in the Memphis, NE area and the Buffalo, MO area before attended Sydney High School in Sydney, IA. Glen then served in the US Army from 1943 to 1947 where he was stationed at Camp Fannin, TX, Camp Beale, CA and in Seoul Korea where he taught Army education and current event classes to other soldiers. In 1951 Glen received his High School Diploma from the Adult High School in Lincoln, NE.

Glen worked for many years at the Allied Chemical Company in La Platte, NE retiring as a supervisor in 1988. He also worked part time for Warga Reality and sold advertising for KOTD Radio, both in Plattsmouth. He was a Life member of the; VFW Post #2543 of Plattsmouth, NE where he served as their service officer for 20 years and volunteered for many activities and fund raisers, American Legion Post #129 of Ashland, NE, National VFW Home. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church in Plattsmouth.

Glen was preceded by his parents, wife Betty, brother Don Harger, sister Genelle Pike, brothers in law, Floyd Root and Larry Felton, step sister Shirley Fundaburg. He is survived by his sister, LaVon Root-Felton, Ashland, NE, brother in law, Jerry Pike, Ashland, NE, sister in law, Margie Harger, Derry, NH, 8 nephews, 2 nieces, 7 step brothers & step sisters.
