Kenneth D. Livers was born on February 12,
1925 in Burr Oak, Kansas to Vyrl and Lucille (Green) Livers.
He grew up in the South Bend, Nebraska area and
attended South Bend Elementary School before graduating from Ashland
High School in Ashland, NE. After high school Kenneth joined the
United States Army Air Force and served from June of 1943 to May of
1946.
He married Olga Pehrson on December 28, 1946 in
Weeping Water, Nebraska. To this union three children were born Karen,
Dave and Debby.
After a short time in Lincoln, Nebraska the
couple moved to Western, Nebraska where Kenneth began his 25 year
career with the Saline County Dairy Breeders. In 1959 the family moved
back to the Livers family farm near South Bend and in 1962 Kenneth
started working for Ash Grove Cement Co. In 1965 they moved to
Murdock, Nebraska and he retired from Ash Grove in 1987. Kenneth also
ran a small saw sharpening business for over 50 years. He was a member
of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock, the Murdock
Volunteer Fire Department, Ashland American Legion Post #129, life
member of the NRA, Citizen Band Radio Club of Ashland.
Kenneth passed away on December 8, 2010 in
Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife
of 64 years Olga of Lincoln, Nebraska, Children and spouses, Karen and
Luke Lake of Bremerton, Washington, Dave and Barb Livers of Cypress,
Texas, Debby Sampson of Murdock, Nebraska, grandchildren, Vicki and
Dave McDermott, Matthew and Sarah Livers, Brent and Lori Livers,
Crystal Sampson, William and Alynn Sampson and Nick and Lori Sampson,
3 great grandchildren, sister and brother in law, Verla and Tom
Plummer of Lincoln, Nebraska, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Keith Livers.
