Gerald D. “Tuff” Rosenboom was born Sept. 5, 1925 in Scotland, South Dakota to Gerhardt and Lillian (Erickson) Rosenboom. His family lived in South Dakota and several places in Burt County, Nebraska. Gerald was in the 4-H during his years growing up. He attended Lyons High School and graduated from there in 1942. On Dec. 10, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Yardley at the Congregational Church in Ashland. They lived near Omaha for one year and then moved to their farm south west of Gretna. Gerald was a grain farmer and raised cattle, hogs and briefly sheep during the many years they lived on the farm. They retired to Murdock, Nebraska in 1993. Gerald was a longtime member of the Congregational Church in Ashland. Gerald enjoyed reading, politics, polka music, watching sports on TV, going to auctions and being with his kids and grandkids.

Gerald is survived by his wife Mary Ann, sons and daughters in law, Alan and Sandy, Martell, NE, Don and Renise, Ashland, NE, Eric and Robin, Panama, NE, daughter and sons in law, Carol and Dennis Bozarth, Gene Hagstrom, all Lincoln, NE, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother, sister in law, Lavern and Gloria Rosenboom, Lincoln, brother in law and sister in law, Donle and Margy Yardley, Ashland, NE, many nieces and nephews.
