Dion K. Smail

Dion K. Smail, age 59, of Ashland, Nebraska died at his home on June 28, 2010. He was born on January 28, 1951 in Norman, OK to Herbert K. and Margaret (Stewart) Smail.  Dion attended schools in Alaska, Oklahoma and Wyoming before graduating from Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, PA in June of 1969. After graduation Dion joined the US Coast Guard and did his boot camp in Cape May, NJ. In his short 59 years, Dion enjoyed his friends, the outdoors, living with his family in Alaska and Nebraska football. After leaving the military Dion owned and operated his own Tire Repair Shop in Lincoln before working for Nebraska Tubing in Waverly.

Dion was preceded in death by his father Herbert K. Smail.  He is survived by his mother, Margaret "Peg" Smail of Malcom, NE, brothers, David Smail of Fairbanks, AK, and Kevin Smail of Malcom, NE.
