Robert was born to Ernest and Willa (McReynolds)
Hageman. He attended elementary school at District 16 and graduated
from Mead High School in 1941. Bob joined the US Navy on May 24,
1944 and was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on May 21,
1946. He was united in marriage to Leora Nygren on June
23, 1946 in Concord, NE. He attended the University of Nebraska and
graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Bob taught
vocational agriculture at Mead and Diller High Schools and later
taught agriculture at night classes for area farmers. He later
farmed, operating a dairy and a 2000 bird laying flock for Hill
Hatchery. He also worked at the Agriculture Research and Development
Center for many years in the hog department and retired from there
in 1988. Bob had been a member of the Farm Bureau, Gideons
International and the Mayflower Association. He was a Republican
Party Leader and ran for the 23rd District Legislative Seat in 1971.
Bob had been a member of the Iliff Methodist Church, served as a
Sunday School Superintendent, was a church camp counselor and was a
4-H Leader for many years.
Preceded in death by his wife Leora, granddaughter Jackie Blake,
sister Florence Hass, sons in law Ron Vincent and Kent Thomsen.
Survived by his daughters, sons in law, Sandra Thomsen, Ceresco, NE,
Renae and Joe Knight, McKinney, TX, Roxanne and Jack Blake, Lincoln,
sons, daughter in law Nyle and Julie Hageman, Ithaca, Brad Hageman,
Wahoo, NE, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brothers,
sister in law Joe and Ginger Hageman, Leslie Hageman, all Lincoln.
