Carl was born to Carl and Anna (Machacek) Jelinek. He
grew up east of Wahoo and attended Wahoo Elementary and High School
graduating in the late 1940's. Carl was married to Cecelia "CeCe"
Bartek on February 25, 1952 at St. John Nepomucene
Catholic Church in Weston, Nebraska. In 1957 they moved to a farm west
of Weston where the lived and farmed until moving back to Wahoo in
2000. Carl was a charter member of the Bishop Neumann School Board in
1963 to build the new school. He drove school bus for Bishop Neumann
for 13 years. He was also the 28th person at Bryan LGH Hospital to
receive a heart transplant, which he lived with for 18 years.
Preceded in death by son in law, Bob Dau.
Survived by wife Cecelia "CeCe" of Wahoo, children and spouses,
Margaret and Harry Garagiola of Wahoo, Charles and Kathleen Jelinek of
Weston, Jean Dau, Christine and Rich Grundman both of Lincoln,
Nebraska and Bernard and Julie Jelinek of Valparaiso, Nebraska. 13
grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 1 sister.
