Emil was
born at his home in rural Weston, Nebraska to the late James and
Jennie (Vavra) Kubik. He attended District School #113 south of his
home. He met his bride-to-be, Rose Bejvancesky, at a dance in Weston
and the two were later married on June 1, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Valparaiso, Nebraska. They recently celebrated 65
years of marriage. To this union four children were born, Alvin,
Janie, Darrell and Joan. Emil was a lifelong Weston area resident and
farmer. He loved to farm, raise cattle, grow fruit trees and spend
time with his grandkids. He served on the District #113 School Board
and the Newman Township Board for many years. Emil passed away at the
farmstead of his daughter, Joan Potter of rural Weston at the age of
91.
He was preceded in
death by a son, Alvin Kubik, son in law, Alfred Potter, brother,
Laddie Kubik and sister, Lillian Zetocha
Survived
by: his wife Rose of Weston, children and spouses, Janie and
Clyde Nelson of Valparaiso, Nebraska, Darrell and Kathy Kubik of
Lincoln, Nebraska, daughter, Joan Potter of Weston, daughter in law,
Jeannette Kubik and sister, Marie Zetocha both of Weston, 14
grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his son, Alvin Kubik, son in law, Alfred Potter, brother, Laddie Kubik
and sister, Lillian Zetocha.
