Pat was born to Wenceslaus and Sylvia (Holub) Machovec. He grew up northwest of Wahoo and went through the eighth grade at District 70 country school. Pat graduated from Wahoo High School in 1976. After high school he farmed with his father. He married Deborah Princ on March 10,1984. He continued farming and went through the auctioneering course through the University of Nebraska in 1985. During the last 20 years he worked for several auctioneering companies including: Jack Nitz & Associates, D.J. Sanderson Auctioneers, Wahoo Sale Barn, Wisinski Auctioneers and Don Peterson & Associates. Pat was a parishioner at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, was a board member of the Farmers Union Coop of Cedar Bluffs, an NC+ Hybrids seed dealer, served as Superintendent of the Saunders County Fair and was in charge of the 4H livestock auctions during fair time.

Survived by: wife Deb Machovec, Wahoo, children Joshua (Erin) Barry, Fremont, NE, Deanna Barry, Omaha, NE, Bryan and Chad Machovec, Wahoo, granddaughter Abbigail Barry, mother Sylvia Machovec, sisters, brothers in law LuAnn and James Werblow, Niles, MI, Carol and Mike Forbes,  Terry (Vicky) Princ, all of Lincoln, NE, nieces, nephews Tonya Forbes, Wendy Werblow, Stefanie (Ken) Couch, and Russell (Pam) Princ.
