Joseph was born to Joseph and Sophia (Hengen) of Wahoo.  He attended grade school and high school in Wahoo.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifelong member of  the American Legion Post # 82 VFW Post # 4502.

On January 30, 1951 he married Ruth Hrdlicka at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.

Joe was a lifelong resident of Wahoo.  He operated the O.K. Meat Market owned by the Beranek family.  O.K. Meat Market was the originator of the "Wahoo Weiners."  Joe retired in 1982.  He loved going to the horse races. Joe was a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Ruth of 58 years, Wahoo, daughters and son in law, Cynthia (Bob) Jordan of Austin, TX and Regina Henson of Lincoln, NE, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother Clarence (Margie) Beranek, sister Lucille Hlavaty.

Preceded in death by parents, brother Jerry, sister Ruby Henderson.
