Tom was born to Percy & Caroline (Sabata) Dockweiler. He attended grade school in Colon, NE and high school at Wahoo High. Tom married Sharyl McCauley in 1962. Three daughters were born to that union. He later married Rita Kuester and helped raise two sons. Tom was employed at Anderson Auto & Farmers Union Co-op in Wahoo for 25 years until the Co-op closed in 1988. He worked for various other employers for several years after that.

Tom was president of the Wahoo Gun Club for 25 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerial # 2971, an assistant leader for Cub Scout Troop #140 and he helped with fish frys at the Saunders County Care Center. Tom also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and helping those in need. He entered eternal reston April 3, 2009 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Tom is survived by wife, Rita Dockweiler, daughters Laurie VanAmpting, Fremont, NE, Shelley Reynolds, Kingwood, TX, Christie Deuel and husband Greg, Ramona, CA, stepsons Rick Kuester, York, NE, Troy Kuester, Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Blaed and Sean Deuel, Dalton and Sasha Reynolds, Jaden VanAmpting, Nathan and Jasmine Kuester, sister Charlotte Anderson and husband Louie, many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, aunts and uncles and special friends.
 

Pallbearers are Terry Hass, Dan Sanderson, Rich Kapple, Doug Hedges, Joe Nadrachal, Bill Rezac, Ron Seymour and Dwaine Vasicek. Honorary Bearers are Homer McDonald, Fred Burkey and Joe Sanderson.
