Darlene M. Maly

Darlene was born to Cyril and Mary (Petrzilka) Swanda. She attended grade school in Brainard and graduated from Brainard High School in 1953. Darlene married Leonard J. Maly on September 26, 1953 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. He passed away on their 49th wedding anniversary, September 26, 2002.

Darlene was a long time resident of the Weston area. She worked for Platte Valley Foods in Wahoo for 35 years. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston.  Darlene loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, husband, brothers, Bill and Eddie Swanda and sister Norma Kavan.

Darlene is survived by her mother, Mary Swanda of Brainard, NE, son and daughter in law, Leonard L. and Moriah Maly of Colon, daughters and sons in law, Debi and Mark Shanahan of Valparaiso and Tami and Ron Smidberg of Lincoln, 5 grandchildren, Kristin, Mallory and Jared Shanahan, Jordan and Collin Maly, 2 great grandchildren, Jase and Carson Maly, brother and sister in law, Jerry and Phyllis Swanda of Brainard, NE, sister and brother in law, Marlene and Jim Linderman of Lincoln, NE, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
