Charles D.L. Masek was born to Martin and Genevieve (Sanley) Masek. He
grew up in David City and attended David City Public Schools. Charles served
in the US Marines and after being honorably discharged, he reenlisted in the
US Navy and served from June, 1963 to July of 1965. On December 27, 1966,
Charles was married to Glenda Zlomke at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in
Columbus, NE. They made their home in Columbus until moving to Wahoo in
1976. They later retired and moved to Lincoln. Charles and Glenda operated
the C and G Sew and Vac in Columbus and Wahoo for 30 years. He also worked
as a fireman in Columbus and was a route salesman for Frito Lay for 20
years. Charles was a licensed E.M.T. and was a former parishioner at St.
Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his wife Glenda, Lincoln; children, spouses, Tina and
Dave Zielke, Columbia, MO, Lori Rockwell, Omaha, NE, Scott and Nicole Masek,
Council Bluffs, IA; grandchildren, Sarah and Alec (wife Lindsey) Zielke,
Brittney, Payton and Brendan Rockwell, Breeanne, Jarred and Brayden Masek;
sister, brother in law, Kathy and Mark Quick, Raymond, NE; stepfather
Charles Novacek.
