John Marion Sullivan was born on
April 28, 1922, in Mead, Nebraska, to Owen and Hildur (Sward)
Sullivan. He attended grade school and high school in Mead, NE.
John served as an infantry man in the US Army during WWII. He was
captured during the Battle of the Bulge and was a prisoner of war in
Germany for 6 months. He was a life member and past commander of the
Wahoo American Legion #82 and VFW #4502. John married Betty Redington
on February 14, 1981 at the First Presbyterian Church, Wahoo. He
and Betty loved traveling together, bowling and playing cards. John
also enjoyed watching sports on TV.
John passed away at St. Elizabeth's Regional
Medical Center in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife Betty, Lincoln, NE;
daughter and son in law Laurel (Bob) Mrozek, New Castle, PA; step
children and spouses Joe and Shelly Voboril, Portland, OR; Judy and
Terry Macholan, Lincoln, NE; Jerry and Linda Voboril, Wahoo, NE; 3
grandchildren 5 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; twin
sister Margaret Peterson, Wahoo, NE, and many other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by parents, first wife LaVaughn,
2 sisters and 4 brothers.
