John was born to August and Marianne (Johnson) Weiss. He grew up in Madison and attended Madison Elementary School before graduating from Madison High School in 1991. John enjoyed raising his cattle, spending time with his family and friends, golfing, attending various sports activities and playing cards. He alsoenjoying playing  in poke and euchre tournaments. John worked for the Norfolk Livestock Market as a yard supervisor for 16 years and then worked for Signor Trucking in Norfolk until moving to Wahoo in the fall of 2008. He was a  member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo and a member of the Hilltop Country Club in Wahoo.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents and survived by: his parents, siblings and spouses, Julie and Mark Sunderman of Humphrey, NE, Janet Prochaska of Wahoo, NE, Sue and Craig Wehrle of Papillion, NE, Mike and Connie Weiss of Wahoo, Barb and Mike Choutka of Lake Mary, FL, Karen and Rod Gunn of Brisbane, Australia, twin brother Mark and Lynn Weiss of Centennial, CO, 19 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
