David Lee Zavodny was to James and Libbie (Mach)
Zavodny. He was a graduate of Wahoo Public High School. Dave entered
the US Army on June 7, 1971 and spent two years in Germany as a medic.
He was honorably discharged on June 4, 1973 and got married and had a
son, Jimmy, born in 1978. Dave worked as a construction worker for
most of his working years. Recently, he was employed by Capitol
Overhead Doors in Lincoln, NE. Dave passed away from this life on
December 13, 2009 at the age of 56 years. Dave had many friends. They
found loyalty in his honest and trustworthy ways. He was a quiet, kind
and thoughtful man and many times, needs of others would be met
without his having been asked. All who knew him will feel the void of
his absence, but his spirit will continue to live on in those he
leaves behind.
Dave is survived by his mother, Libbie Zavodny,
sister Shirlee Poppe, niece Missy and her husband Ryan Hall, all of
Wahoo, and his great nieces, Riley, Ellee and Lexi Hall, whom he loved
dearly. He also had a special love for one of his sister Shirlee's
dogs, Harlie, that was his buddy. Harlie Girl was named after Dave's
bike and was born the year he bought his Harley. He was preceded in
death by his father James Zavodny and son Jimmy Zavodny.
