Robert was born to Fritz and Bessie (Fencl) Laudenback.  He grew up in Weston attending the elementary school there and graduating from Weston High School in 1949. He attended Luther College in Wahoo for two years after which he worked at the Mead Ordinance Plant. Robert was united in marriage to Mary Kvasnicka on June 26, 1954 in Crete, NE. They made their home in Wahoo and Robert began to work at Western Electric in Lincoln, NE. They moved to Lincoln for two years and when he was transferred to the Western Electric Plant in Omaha in 1956, they moved back to Wahoo. He retired from Western Electric after 38 years of employment. Robert was instrumental in beginning the youth softball and baseball programs in Wahoo. He was very active in coaching many ball teams as well as being the caretaker of Sam Crawford Field for many years. He volunteered often at the Wahoo Civic Center and served on the Civic Center Board. He was given the Aksarben Good Neighbor Award and was honored by having a baseball field at Hackberry Park named after him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by wife Mary, children and spouses Steve Laudenback, Tulsa, OK, Debra and Brian Konecky, Columbus, NE, Mitch Laudenback, Omaha, NE, Larry Laudenback, Tulsa, OK, Susie and Eric Gottschalk, Connie Syverson, all of Wahoo, seven grandchildren, brother and sister in law Lawrence and Gerry Laudenback, Victorville, CA.

Memorial Service Tuesday, January 19, 2010, 10:30 AM at the Wahoo Civic Center with Rev. Carl Kramer officiating. Bearers are Steve, Mitch and Larry Laudenback, Brian Konecky and Eric Gottschalk. Honorary Bearers are Tim Laudenback, Mike and Andrew Konecky, Christine Syverson, Anna Gottschalk, Ty and Seth Syverson.
