Name: John M. "Jack" McEvoy, age 78, was a resident of Yutan, Nebraska.  He died at his home on February 17, 2010.  Jack was born in Omaha, NE on May 6, 1931 to Charles and Mary Ann (Thell) McEvoy.  He graduated from Yutan High School in 1948. Jack was united in marriage to Mary Ann Cihal on July 17, 1967. Jack farmed all of his life in the Yutan area and was always active in community affairs and with his church, St. James Catholic Church in Mead. He looked forward to the annual threshing event that he held every year in July for the last twenty years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Mary Ann, sons and daughters in law Thomas and Shannon McEvoy, Charles and Stephanie McEvoy, Martin McEvoy, all of Yutan, John and Patty McEvoy, Wahoo, NE; grandsons Trevor, Justin, William, Tyler, Nick and Ethan; brothers and sisters in law Donald and Kathleen McEvoy, Charles and Roberta McEvoy, all of Omaha, NE, Robert and Connie McEvoy, David and Betty McEvoy, all of Ralston, NE; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, Febr. 22, 2010, 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Mead
Clergy: Rev. Jerel A. Scholl and Rev. Richard Thell
Interment: St. James Cemetery
Pallbearers: Jim Hollst, Robert Gutzwiller, Wesley Zaugg, Steve Brase, Willard Witte and Jack Wollen
Visitation: Sunday, 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM all at the church, also one hour visitation before the service Monday.
