Elsie Marie Novacek was born May 14, 1925 in Loma, NE to Emil and Mary
(Hroach) Petrzilka. She attended elementary school at the Loma
Elementary School and later graduated from David City High School.
Following high school, she obtained a teaching certificate and taught
school for three years in the Loma area. On June 10, 1946, Elsie was
united in marriage to Leonard Novacek at St. Luke Catholic Church in
Loma. They made their home on their farm near Loma where Elsie helped
Leonard with all aspects of the farm operation. She drove tractors and
helped with raising cattle, hogs, chickens and ducks. Elsie loved to
go shopping and enjoyed collecting antiques. She also admired sports
cars and loved her horses. She had been a parishoner at Holy Trinity
Catholic Church and a member of the PCCW and Altar Society. She was
formerly a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Loma. She passed away
June 19, 2010 at Bryan LGH West Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.
Elsie is survived by her husband Leonard; daughters and sons in law,
LuJane and Ken Kotera, Brainard, Lynnette and Jerome Kotera, Wahoo,
NE; grandchildren, Neil (Jessica) Kotera, Kurtis Kotera, and Nathan, Nevin and
Mitchell Kotera. She was preceded in death by her parents and two
infant brothers.
