Marie married Joseph Rezac on June 1, 1937 and had three children:

#35, #62 and #91 in Saunders County until graduating from Midland
Lutheran College in Fremont in 1969. She then taught fourth grade at
North Ward and West Ward Schools in Wahoo for nine years. After
retiring in 1977 from the public school system, she taught at St.
John’s Parochial School in Weston for an additional 8 years for a
total of 37 years of teaching!
Marie and Joe lived on a farm west of Cedar Bluffs for 29 years before
moving to Wahoo in 1966. Marie was a member of two extensions clubs
since 1937, Dandy Bunch and Platte View Club. She served as County

in 1997 for completing 60 years of extension service. She was active
in 4-H as a child on the 1920’s, led 4-H school clubs in the 1930’s
and was a leader of a 4-H club near Cedar Bluffs in the 1940’s. Marie
was elected to the Saunders County Historical Society Board in 1975 in
which she was very interested and served for 20 years. She served as
secretary for seven years and was honored by the board with a lifetime
